Jeffrey started acting from his high school and created the drama department in his local high school. Jeffery Donovan attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and received an MFA. He made his film debut in 1995 in ‘Throwing Down’. The film received the top Jury prize (the Goldfish Star) and received critical acclaim at the Hampton’s film festival. Jeffery Donovan also landed a small acting part in the highly controversial ‘Sleepers’ and ‘Catherine’s Grove’. He has performed leading roles in several TV programs and made several TV guest appearances. He appeared in episodes of ‘Law & Order’, ‘Homicide: Life on Street’, ‘The Pretender’, ‘Spin City’, ‘Hitch’ including a recurring role on Crossing Jordan.
He was cast as the lead in ‘Burn Notice’ where he portrayed Michael Westen, a highly trained American secret agent.
